Preliminary Round
Submission of a VIDEO recording via YouTube link(s). Program (maximum 20 minutes) must include:
– 1 Etude
– 1 first movement of a Classical Sonata
– 1 piece of the candidate’s choice
This video must be submitted by June 30, 2025 for your registration to be valid.
The jury will select which Etude is to be performed. The candidate will be informed of this choice one hour before their performance.
The three finalists will perform a Ludwig van Beethoven concerto of their choice, selected at the time of registration from among the composer’s five concertos.
The laureates will be accompanied by the orchestra of the Chapelle Musicale de Tournai under the direction of Philippe Gérard, former professor of orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM Random draw at the Conservatory to determine the order of performances. Candidates are required to attend. A meeting with the composer of the compulsory piece will take place after this session.
Sunday, October 19, and Monday, October 20, 2025 : First Round in the André Dumortier Hall at the Conservatory of Tournai.
Tuesday, October 21, and Wednesday, October 22, 2025 : Semi-finals in the André Dumortier Hall at the Conservatory of Tournai.
Friday, October 24, 2025 : Orchestra rehearsal in the Grand Hall of the Maison de la Culture in Tournai.
Saturday, October 25, 2025 : 8:00 PM: Final Round and Awards Ceremony in the Grand Hall of the Maison de la Culture in Tournai.
