In its effort to establish itself within the musical landscape of Wallonia Picard, the Concours International André Dumortier, with the support of the “Richelieu – Tournai” club and “Richelieu International-Europe,” invited 11 young pianists (aged 12-19) from the music academies of Wallonia Picard to perform in front of television cameras. They were recorded by NoTélé at the Maison de la Culture in Tournai for the program “1.2.3 Piano.”
The coverage will be broadcast on NoTélé in a few weeks, during the summer holidays, and before the competition session in October 2025.
As in 2016 and 2018, the Artistic Committee requested that the composer of the imposed piece for the competition, Jean-Luc Fafchamps, create a short piece for the academy students.
They will have the chance to meet the composer and publicly perform the piece (excluding any competition) during the opening of the semi-finals of the competition in 2025.
