CIAD

9th edition from 19 to 25 october 2025

Tournai, Belgium.

              SEMI-FINALS

After a long deliberation, the jury made the selection of the semi-finalists of the competition. Due to the high artistic quality of all the competitors, this selection proved very difficult.

At the time of the announcement of the results, Michel Stockhem, President of the jury, insisted that not having been selected did not detract from the technical and artistic quality of all the candidates.

The draw for the first events was used to establish the order of the semi-finals.

André Dumortier

The CIAD, a biennial piano competition created in tribute to André Dumortier, aims to welcome young pianists under the age of 26 who strive for the musical ideals of this elite performer and renowned teacher. Dumortier was a laureate of the 1938 Eugène Ysaÿe Competition, which later became the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium.

Since 2003, the competition has brought together nearly 160 pianists from 26 countries worldwide.

Its 9th edition will take place in Tournai, Belgium, from October 19 to 25, 2025.

The jury consists of internationally renowned pianists.

An original, unpublished contemporary music piece is provided to the candidates by its composer. Finalists will be accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the Chapelle Musicale de Tournai.
