Nan YI

Born in 2004, as a young pianist, he has distinguished himself in numerous international competitions. In 2024, he won the Young Artist Concerto Competition at the Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival, where he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the festival orchestra. He was also awarded Second Prize at the 3rd International Carl Maria von Weber Piano Competition 2024 in Dresden and received a semifinal prize at the Robert Schumann Competition 2025 in Düsseldorf.
As a performer, he has appeared as a soloist in the touring project Magic Piano & Chopin Shorts, presenting over twenty of Chopin’s Études across various cities in China. His playing is noted for its expressive clarity and technical finesse.
Yi Nan began studying piano at the age of five. He received his early training at the Middle School affiliated to China Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Professor Tong Shen. Currently, he studies with Professor Alexander Schimpf at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.
