Mariia KOMPAN
Ukrainian pianist Mariia Kompan is recognized for her deep musical sensitivity and exceptional technical freedom.
Born in 2006 in Kyiv, Ukraine, Mariia started taking piano lessons at the age of 6 with Iryna Rozman at Kyiv Children Music School No.10. During her studies Mariia has won many regional and international competitions.
After graduating the music school with highest honors, demonstrating outstanding talent and dedication, Mariia entered the Glier Academy of Music in Kyiv, class of Prof. Yuliana Yablonska in 2021.
As an active and passionate performer, Mariia regularly appears on stage as both a soloist and a chamber musician, sharing her sincere musicality and insigthtful interpretations through a diverse and wide-ranging repertoire.
In 2022 Mariia won First Prize and two Special Prizes at the Cremona International Music Compeition for piano, which led to an invitiation to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto in B flat major, K.450, in 2023 in the renowned concert hall of Museo del Violino in Cremona, Italy.
In July 2024 Mariia was awarded Second Prize at the junior Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition (WFIMC) in Porto, Portugal.
In the recent years Mariia received lessons and participated in masterclasses of such artists as Mana Tokuno, Till Fellner, Christoph Sischka, Esther Ning Yau, Anton Kernjak, Li-Shan Hung, Veneziela Naydenova, Tobias Schabenberger, Anna Gebert and Rainer Schmidt.
Currently Maria is studying at the Basel Hochschule für Musik in the class of Prof. Tobias Schabenberger where she is actively developing her artistic skills as a solo pianist, chamber musician and most importantly – true artist.
