Beren Gürcüoglu was born in 2006 in Ankara, Turkey. She began her piano education at the age of 5 through the Bilkent Early Music Education Program. At the age of 6, she was accepted with a scholarship to the Private Bilkent Music and Ballet Primary School, where she studied for 4 years under the guidance of Dr. Zerin Rasul. She has performed numerous concerts in various cities, including Ankara, Bursa, Düzce, Samsun, Eskiehir, izmir, and Edirne. In 2016, she was admitted to the Anadolu University State Conservatory as a student of Associate Professor Gokhan Aybulus.
Between 2017 and 2018, she participated in masterclasses with prominent figures such as Prof. Hande Dalk11iç, Prof. Metin Ülkü, Associate Prof. Elif ônal, Associate Prof. Ôzgür Ünald1, and State Artist Gülsin Onay. In 2017, she performed as a soloist with the Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Conductor Murat Gokta. In 2018, she participated in the ÇEV Art Young Talents auditions, which were judged by Faz,I Say, Cihat Ak1n, ibrahim Yaz1c1, and Bülent Eveil. She was selected as one of the young talents and performed in the same year.
In September 2018, she won the First Prize in the 19th Antalya Piano Festival Young Talents Competition in the 11-14 age category, which was judged by Gürer Aykal. On September 4, 2018, she recorded the first movement of Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto in A minor with the Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gürer Aykal, and performed it during the gala concert that same day.
On November 29, 2018, she performed in Baku, Azerbaijan, at the invitation of the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonie, with the “Kara Karayev Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra” conducted by Orkhan Hasimov, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
Between March 25-30, 2019, she participated in the “Clavicologne Master Classes” in Hamburg, where she studied with professors Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Gesa Lücker, Guiliano Mazzocante, Hubert Rutkowski, and Alexej Gorlatch. She also attended a masterclass with Prof. Jean Bernard Pommier, organized by ÇEV Art on April 15, 2019.
In April 2019, she passed the entrance exams for the “Center Music School” of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory’s primary and high school division and was accepted into the 8th grade. She continued her education at this school, studying with Nina Makarova, a Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. On January 13, 2020, she performed as a soloist with the Eurasia Philharmonie Orchestra, conducted by ibrahim Yaz1c1, at the Zorlu Performance Arts Center as part of the ÇEV Art Young Talents Concert. In September 2020, she voluntarily left the ÇEV Art Young Talents Program.
From December 13-15, 2020, she performed at the “Moscow Meets Friends International Festival” in Moscow, organized by the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation. On April 18, 2021, she gave a recital at the Tsereteli Art Gallery in Moscow.
In April 2021, she participated in the II AII-Russian Piano Competition organized by the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where she won 3rd place, as no first prize was awarded.
In May 2021, she was accepted into the piano class of Prof. Andrey Pisarev, a Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. In August 2022, she participated in masterclasses at the International Gümülük Music Festival, studying with State Artist Gülsin Onay, Prof. Murray Mclachlan, and Prof. Kathryn Page, and performed at the gala concert.
In June 2023, she graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory’s Center Music School with the highest distinction, the “Red Diploma.” In August 2023, she attended the “Mattheiser Sommer Academy” in Bad Sobernheim, where she worked with Prof. Markus Groh in a masterclass. In September 2023, she was selected to participate in the masterclasses at the “Istanbul Chamber Music Festival” and worked with Prof. Pavel Gililov.
In December 2023, she performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Aromsa Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Cihat Akin, at the Süreyya Opera House. In January 2024, she was accepted into the piano class of Prof. Markus Groh at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK). She was also selected for the IKSV’s “Yanrnn Kadin Y1ld1zlan” (Stars of Tomorrow) program, where she will give a chamber music concert at the Süreyya Opera House in May 2024.
On January 29, 2025, she performed at the German Federal Parliament to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau during the Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony, representing her school.
She is currently continuing her undergraduate education in Berlin with the support of the International Gümülük Music Festival’s scholarship, while also giving concerts bath domestically and internationally.
